A guy walks in for his interview.
The interviewer asks, "Whats the first thing you notice about me?"

The guy responds, "Why, You don't have any ears."

Interviewer: "Get out! Send in the next guy."

2nd guy walks in for his interview.

The interviewer asks, "Whats the first thing you notice about me?"

The guy responds, "Why, You don't have any ears."

Interviewer: "Get out! Send in the next guy."

This guy on the way out says to the 3rd guy "What ever you do, don't say anything about his not having any ears - He'll kick you right out."

3rd guy walks in for his interview.

The interviewer asks, "Whats the first thing you notice about me?"

The guy looks at the interviewer intently for a few seconds and responds, "Why, you wear contact lenses don't you."

The interviewer says, "That's impressive that you're so observant. How could you tell I wear contact lenses?"

3rd guy "Because you don't have any damn ears to hang glasses on."

Mike is Dead...

Two guys meet up in a bar. The first one asks, "Did your hear the news - Mike is dead??!!!"

"Woah, what the hell happened to him?"

"Well he was on his way over to my house the other day and when he arrived outside the house he didn't brake properly and boom - He hit the curb, the car flipped over and he crashed through the sunroof - Went flying through the air and smashed through my upstairs bedroom window."

"What a horrible way to die!"

"No no, he survived that, that didn't kill him at all. So, he's landed in my upstairs bedroom and he's all covered in broken glass on the floor. Then, he spots the big old antique wardrobe we have in the room and reaches up for the handle to try to pull himself up. He's just dragging himself up when bang, this massive wardrobe comes crashing down on top of him, crushing him and breaking most of his bones."

"What a way to go, that's terrible!"

"No no, that didn't kill him he survived that. He managed to get the wardrobe off him and crawls out onto the landing, he tries to pull himself up on the banister but under his weight, the banister breaks and he goes falling down on to the first floor. In mid air, all the broken banister poles spin and fall on him, pinning him to the floor, sticking right through him."

"Now that is the most unfortunate way to go!"

"No no, that didn't kill him, he even survived that. So he's on the downstairs landing, just beside the kitchen. He crawls in to the kitchen, tries to pull himself up on the stove, but reached for a big pot of boiling hot water, whoosh, the whole thing came down on him and burned most of his skin off him."

"Man, what a way to go!"

"No no, he survived that, he survived that! He's lying on the ground, covered in boiling water and he spots the phone and tries to pull himself up, to call for help, but instead he grabs the light switch and pulls the whole thing off the wall and the water and electricity didn't mix and so he got electrocuted, wallop, 10,000 volts shot through him."

"Now that is one awful way to go!"

"No no, he survived that..."

"Hold on now, just how the hell did he die?"

"I shot him!"

"You shot him? What the hell did you shoot him for?"

"He was wrecking my house."

How's life after SPM everyone?

Mine is literally the mixing up of the words;

-Boredom

...and so much more!

I can't be proud of that can I?

I wonder what happened to the dreams I had written in my journal last time in Mrs.Jenny's class...

Something about journeying in a train,

And something about learning aikido or something...

Seems that all that dreams are just dreams since we can't really predict the future...*sob sob*

Gosh! How I MISSED school!*sighs*

And to think that I had wished that school should end sooner once upon a time ago....

I guess, I'm not one to set their minds on one thing only, no? (haha)

The Words Of Mother Teresa

The common theme of Mother Teresa words reflect her work with the lonely, the sick, the dying and the destitute. Her unending love came through in her work and in her words.

She was forever compassionate towards the loneliness felt by “wealthy” people, who on the surface had it all. She was also very concerned about the breakdown of families.

Here is a collection of her words which say it all:

Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.

I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.

If we want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.

Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired.

Everybody today seems to be in such a terrible rush, anxious for greater developments and greater riches and so on, so that children have very little time for their parents, parents have very little time for each other, and in the home begins the disruption of peace of the world.

It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start.

If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.

Even the rich are hungry for love, for being cared for, for being wanted, for having someone to call their own.

Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.

Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty.

Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action.

Peace begins with a smile.

Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.

The biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted.

The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.

The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.

The success of love is in the loving - it is not in the result of loving. Of course it is natural in love to want the best for the other person, but whether it turns out that way or not does not determine the value of what we have done.

There is more hunger in the world for love and appreciation in this world than for bread. We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.

Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.

Good works are links that form a chain of love.

In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love.

Mother Teresa’s message of love and hope lives on - it is now up to all of us to continue her work and make the world a better place.

Life is so amusing, what you do unto others will someday come back and haunt you.

Letting go is part of life, we need to teach ourselves how to say bye.

Moving on is essential to our maturity.

No one is immune to mistakes, they always happen.

How we react to them determines who we become.

Being afraid and ashamed is a sign of the lesson leaned.

We need to stop being selfish,lets start to think of the needs of others.

Reduce your lies and treat others with dignity.

If it happened, it was meant to, don’t stress about it (that’s why it is called the past).

Yesterday needed to be in order for today to come.

Live for today and rejoice yesterday because tomorrow awaits.

You are judged by how you treat others...

It's time to say 'goodbye'....

After two(some of you, three) long years of sweat, blood, tears and laughter, it is time to release my 'baby turtles' to the sea..

Firstly, I want to thank each and everyone of you in 5 Zuhrah, for allowing me to come into your life, to share your ups and downs...thank you also for listening to my 'two-cents' worth of advice, thanks for listening to my nonsense too and laughing at the correct moments. Through my years with you, I have also grown (older), learn and unlearn and overall, tried to be a better teacher.

I will remember.......

Prevena, the ever vigilant and hardworking one, thanks for your help in running the English Society and all the other little projects.

Patrick, another gem of the class, who is never tardy in helping teachers, thanks for your support.

Yih Soon, the quiet one who will one day blossom into all you are meant to be, thanks for being you and for always trying to improve...

Syifa, another talented one, I marvel at how you have grown, both in English as well as in maturity and I hope you will continue to stay open-minded and be strong at whatever life throws at you....you gonna make it....

The Power of Your Actions

This is what i've picked from a blog...

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd." I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friend the following afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes.

My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him, and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, I saw a tear in his eye.
I handed him his glasses and said, "Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives.
He looked at me and said, "Hey, thanks!" There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. It turned out he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before coming to this school.

I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play football on Saturday with me and my friends. He said yes. We hung all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him. And my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, "Damn boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!". He just laughed and handed me half the books. Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends.

When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class.

I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak.

Graduation day arrived - I saw Kyle and he looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than me and all the girls loved him!

Boy, sometimes I was jealous. Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!"

He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. "Thanks," he said. As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began. "Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach... but mostly your friends. I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story."

I stared at my friend in disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. "Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable."

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize its depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse. God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others.

"Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."

I do not mean to "eksploitasi" the story, but it's a good story for u all...

Thad Phillips was rescued from the evil clutches of Joe Clark by the officers:Case 2, "The Tortured Truth": In 1994, 14-year-old Chris Steiner's body was found on a bank of the Wisconsin river. A year later, 13-year-old Thad Phillips was abducted by 17-year-old Joe Clark. Clark took Thad to his home and began to break Thad's ankles, legs and knees. Clark said he was fascinated with breaking bones and had done the same thing to Chris Steiner. After 43 hours, Clark left Thad alone. Thad was able to call the police. Clark was arrested and Chris Steiner's body was exhumed, revealing broken legs. In 1996, Clark was found guilty of torturing Phillips and of killing Steiner. He locked the battered boy in the bedroom's closet before leaving. He had been held capture for about 43 hours in total and had sustained horrible fractures to both legs which would require several surgeries over the years and result in a permanent limp. Soon afterward Clark was arrested and Phillips told officers that Clark had spoken of brutalizing two other boys, one who's name was Chris and another that he can't recall to this day. A subsequent search of the Clark home uncovered a ghoulish list of boy's names, some of which were listed under the heading, "The Leg Thing". Thankfully, Phillips bravery ensured that none of those potential victims would experience the torture that he and Steiner did.

It seems that ever since the holidays have started,

Nobody has written anything in this blog...

is it because there are just nothing to be said...

or is it because they are too busy enjoying their holidays?

That was what I ORIGINALLY wanted to say at first...

but a dreadful realization came to me just now,

that I did REALLy badly in my final exam!!!

And so, the word merdeka doesn't really suit me yet...

until I have passed my SPM with flying colours...

only then can I say that I have Merdeka-d! (bahasa pasar)

So to all my fellow friends who didn't do so good either in their final exams...

don't take it too easily nor badly... Fight on with burning will!

For the others who did good... très bien and keep up the good work!

Sedna is the name given by astronomers for the newest planet to be discovered orbiting the Sun. Although the details of the size of the planet are still being sought, it is thought to be about 1300 miles in diameter and could be of a similar size to Pluto. Given the Pluto is generally accepted to be a planet in its own right, Sedna becomes the tenth planet to be found orbiting the Sun.

NASA put out information about an announcement planned for Monday 15th March, to be given by Dr Michael Brown of Caltech. His team had recently discovered another large Edgeworth-Kuiper Belt object called 2004 DW, details of which were released in February. His team are using the recently launched Spitzer Space Telescope.

It is currently located in the Edgeworth-Kuiper belt some 13 billion km from the Sun or about 85 Astronomical Units, which is about three times more distant than Pluto. This places it in the Kuiper Gap, or Kuiper Cliff, an area unexpectedly devoid of predicted objects.

Perhaps it may help to explain the lack of companions out at this distance, although it is probably too small in practice to have swept the Belt clean by itself.

However, although it is located here, it may actually be an object from the distant Oort Cloud of comets. At the moment it is nearing perihelion, which has brought it into the Kuiper Belt. It is the most distant object to have been located orbiting the Sun. It appears to be following an elliptical orbit of about 10,500 years duration, taking out to a phenomenal 900 AU when at aphelion. Size-wise, it is too small to be a 'Nibiru' type-entity, irrespective of whether Nibiru turns out to be a terrestrial planet or a gas giant. Nor is this rocky, icy world anything approaching a 'Dark Star', even though it is red (presumably die the deposit of organic material on its surface). But it is a thrilling discovery, even so.

Dr David Whitehouse, writing for the BBC, states that 'astronomers at the Tenagra Observatory in Arizona were asked to provide positional information so that an orbit could be determined for Sedna'. It has also been imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope.

"Sedna, the Sea Spirit, exercises suzerainity over all animals which provide food for humans. In her residence at the bottom of the sea, from where she sends out the animals for hunting, she takes on the form of a woman. Even shamans fear her."

The new planet has been named 'Sedna', after the Canadian and Greenlandic Inuit Sea Goddess:

The proper way to wear a face mask.

In an earlier post about my office issuing masks and thermometers, I posted a photo of myself wearing a mask. Today I learned that I was wearing the mask the wrong way. Let me show you why.

I was wearing the mask the right way in terms of pulling it over my nose, crimping the metal nose piece securely, and pulling the bottom of the mask down over my chin. But...

What I did not realise was that there is a right side and a wrong side to the face mask. Most face masks have a coloured side and a white side. The coloured side should face OUT while the white side should be next to your face when you’re wearing the mask. Hence, it should look like this and not like my negative demonstration above:

Ah. Better.

As for how long you should wear the mask before throwing it out, the recommendation is eight hours. But if you’re a mouth breather, and your mask gets all moist and disgusting, change masks more frequently.

State Drama Competition 2009

Congrats to DZ for representing Batang Padang in the state drama competition. I just want to say that I am very proud of them. It was not an easy climb. When we won the district, it was really difficult to raise the game. PPD wanted us to improve our act, make it longer and etc but we were short of money. Luckily, our principal gladly approved some funds for us and we managed to make some more props. Then, some members wanted to quit as many teachers had scolded them for taking part. I told them that the teachers mean well as they were worried about their studies too. I had not wanted to take the exam classes as the actors but I had no choice as 4 Zuhrah was involved in science and maths fair as well as carnival. We also could not practice during school hours. Everything was done after school....So, I really salute the students and Mr Edmund for hanging in there even though we had so much self doubts...And to Jabar, who had to walk a few kilometres back home to Kg Balun, I salute thee

I must say that DZ rose to the occasion. Everyone did well even though there were many obstacles. Just before we went up stage, the computer would not start and the background could not be hung...i just whispered a prayer and voila...everything went on as we wanted...the computer started and we had our background , no one forgot their lines, timing was fantastic...the judges said that everyone spoke very well and they were very surprised...kampung school ma....

So, if anyone asked me whether it was worth it, I would say a thousand times, yes...cos if we did not try, we would never have known that we are right up there and we should have more self-believe. We always feel inferior when compared to Kinta and LMS but this time, we were right there as well....So, when I was told that we were the top four schools selected for consideration, I was ecstatic and I felt like crying.....for joy...

Never ever let anyone tell us that we are not good enough, people....DZ boleh!!!!!

A Fantastic Experience

Yesterday was a remarkable day for the drama team of SMKDZM as this was the first time in history, our drama team made it to the state level English Drama Competition. The competition which commenced at 8.00am and only finished at 1.00pm was participated by ten schools (from ten districts in Perak) which were grunting and grinding their way in the notion of representing Perak in the national level competition in Penang. It was definitely a tough competition as all the schools were equally good. But, as you all know, in any competition, there would only be one winner.
Eventhough the results didn’t favour us, we were very satisfied as we put up a good fight. For us to get fourth (we only rehearsed for two days, believe me…) among ten participating schools was definitely an achievement itself as the top three schools were superb. King George V (represented Larut Matang-Selama) bagged the first place, leaving SMK Sentosa (represented Kinta Selatan) as runners.
The Georgians 7 months of practice surely paid off when they put up a mind-blowing performance, with amazing props and a unique story line, which was also awarded the best script. I’m sure they will make Perak proud in the national level competition.
On the other hand, the 1st runner-ups (who were last year’s runner-up for the national level competition) were not satisfied with the results as they expected to grab the first place. There was another drama going on backstage as that school wanted to hand over a ‘Surat Bantahan’ to the organizing team. But, in my perception, they shouldn’t have taken it too seriously as the judges did a good job in choosing the best team.
Whatever it is, our drama team is very thankful to Sir Edmund Yeo, Teacher Jenny and all the teachers involved, for their concerted effort in training us until we achieved a contented victory. Not to forget, I would like to thank all the team members (Kit Yin, Pavaani, Thava, Jabar, Pei Yii, Darshany, Guna, Narenth, Siva and Vel) for their wonderful cooperation in putting up such a good performance yesterday. I will surely miss the enjoyable sessions of training with you guys…
I hope next year we can at least represent our state for the national level competition. This wish will definitely go on my vision board.
BE AWARE OTHER TEAMS… DZ WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR!!!

Busy as a bee

Today, I had to skip my class with 4 Zuhrah because of more important 'national issues'....Hee Hee...and I am sure you all enjoyed every minute of the free periods. It is going to be a busy week with two major events coming up. Tomorrow, we will have the first rehearsal for the Hari Anugerah Gemilang, followed by the real event the next day. Feeling a wee bit nervous as many of the things are not ready..but as usual, we will always rise to the occasion somehow....we are driven by last-minute genes....Congratulations to all the award recipients in 4 Zuhrah.....remember to treat us..

A Seminar in UPSI

Today, 25th of July, me and some of my friends from SMKDZM which are made up of some students from 4 Zuhrah itself and from other classes too went to UPSI to attend a seminar. There were some other schools that attended the seminar too... The seminar was held to teach students on how to strenghen stabilize personality.

The first topic that was discussed was 'how to make up a stabilize personality for students'. the topic was talked by En. Ahmad Zulfiqar Bin Abdul Hadi. One of the lessons that were taught was that to make up a stabilize personality, one must take care of ones background, appearance, morals, never gives up so easily and be alert at all times. Then we were allowed to take a break and have our breakfast for 15 minutes. Each and every students were given friend rice noodle and tea. Though the rice noodle doesn't taste that good, it was still fulfilling.

After we went back to the lecture hall, we were divided into groups of 10. We were asked to play a game called 'Pulau Bakun'. This is played by dividing into two groups, one is the 'Muslim preacher' and the other was the 'native'. The Muslim preachers came to an island where the natives live to preach them to destroy the swine farm that they have. The students that played as the Muslim preachers must find ways to persuade the natives to detroy the swine farm while the students that played as the natives must find ways to protect the treasure of their island. For your information, 7/10 of the students from SMKDZM played as the natives and among them was Najihah. As you all may know, Najihah likes to talk right? So the natives were like winning for Najihah's bombarding remarks at the Muslim preachers answers. The fight was fierce to be exact.

At about 1.30pm, we were again allowed to take a break for the Muslim students need to perform their Zohor prayers. The lunch that they provided for us was delicious if I may say! It consists of white rice, chicken curry and cabbage soup. (I was disappointed that they told me I can't take seconds for there weren't enough for all, but I got over it rather quickly...)

After having our lunch and gotten back to the lecture hall, another topic was discussed about the group that are lack in knowledge. One of the lesson that were taught was that knowledge is important to set ones future and daily life. To gain knowledge, one must have interest in gaining it by oneself without being asked by others to. At the end of the ceremony, each group got a hamper according to the points that they got during the game. And do you know who won the award for the most supporting group... it was Group 1! The group where Najhah was in. Nobody doubted it. We were given some drinks and kuih before we went back. These are some of the pictures that we have taken during the seminar. Do Enjoy!

Today is the first day of our monthly examination for July. My head was spinning like crazy to answer the questions that were given especially chemistry! I think I did rather badly in chemistry test... no, I really did BADLY in chemistry test just now!!! (I hope I won't flunk...) Ah! And about the English test just now where it ask us to write a report to our teacher on "what makes a happy family"... What does it mean, really? Is it asking us on "How to make a happy family?" or "The reasons for the family to be already happy?"... I'm a bit confuse...

Hi guys! I hope this project which is started by Teacher Jenny will be a success. Eventhough many of us will lament as this is an added HOMEWORK, it will be beneficial in the long run. Even as we leave school in two years time, this could be a blog where all ex-4 Zuhrah students meet up!
As you all know, the drama team came out first at district level last week. I am very glad to be a part of it. At first, we didn't have the hope to win because we felt threatened looking at the costumes, make-ups and the settings of the teams from other schools. The last year's champs, SMK Buyong Adil, gave a mind-blowing performance and they were our biggest threat. As their drama was based on a historical legend, it did not attract the audience. Since our drama had the essence of comedy, it kept the audience as well as the judges on their feet. a special credit has to be given to the character of 'Sinappan' for giving a boost to the drama. Thanks to Sir Edmund and Teacher Jenny for their dramatic coaching. Besides all the emotion roller-coasters going on because of the drama team, I still hope we win the state level competition on the 1st August 2009 in Teknik, Slim River. Please pray for our victory.
